Realtor/home builder couple list their Kirkland home for $6M

By Shawna De La Rosa – Reporter, Puget Sound Business Journal

Mark and Sheri Putzke recently listed their 5,560-square-foot Kirkland home for $6 million.

It is the fourth home the home builder/Realtor couple has built together, and they consider it their best so far. “We have learned with each home and have added tweaks and improvements each time,” said Sheri Putzke, who is an agent with Windermere Real Estate/East. Mark Putkze is the sole proprietor of Chandler Homes.

Sheri said pricing the home correctly was tricky since there are few similar homes nearby.

“There is value in the architecture, the location and the view,” she said. “We love this location. I walk into town once or twice a day.

Her favorite feature is the two-story enclosed atrium that floods the home with natural light. It has a weeping fig tree, which was installed using a crane, and pet quail. The quail may remain with the home after it is sold, if that’s what the buyers request.

It also has a koi pond located just outside of the open-concept kitchen and dining room area.

The couple is downsizing since their children have grown. They plan to remain in Kirkland and may build a similar home but on a smaller scale.

The home is ideal for multi-generational living with its detached living unit and basement with a separate living area, Sheri said. The detached unit has a bedroom and one and a half bathrooms, as well as a large rooftop deck.

The couple moved into the home in 2021, though public records say it was completed in 2019. The completion of the home was delayed due to the pandemic.

Including the additional dwelling, the home has five bedrooms and six bathrooms and is 5,560 square feet.
